What's new
What changed in each version, newest first.
0.3.0
LatestEasier to see it big
Rest the pointer on a screenshot and it opens big, no keys needed. Right there you copy its text, open its QR, crop it (or remove a window's shadow) or send it to Tools. Move into the big view to select text: it stays open while you're on it.
Desklot Tools
Convert images, remove their location or background, merge or compress PDFs, extract text and make QR codes with your colors and logo (and keep them in My QR codes), all on your Mac. Open it from the ledge or the Desklot menu, or right-click files in Finder › Services or Open With › Desklot.
The ledge by keyboard
Open it with its shortcut and use ← → to choose, ↩ to copy, ⌘Y to see it big and ⌘⌫ to move it to the Trash. Esc closes it.
Undo on the ledge
Deleted one by mistake? The ledge offers Undo for a few seconds (or press ⌘Z). Delete All and a day's trash button now ask for a second click.
Your originals stay put
Dropping files from a USB drive, SD card or network disk onto a box now copies them, like Finder does. And undoing a box sent to the Trash brings back its name, color and symbol.
0.2.5
2 changesSee it big
Rest the pointer on a screenshot and press Space to see it big. Use ← → or hover over others to switch, and Space or Esc to close.
Pick several
Click the circle on a screenshot to pick it. Then copy them all at once, see them big with Space, drag them into an app or move them to the Trash.
0.2.4
2 changesEvery screenshot, by day
The ledge now shows every screenshot in its folder, grouped by day. Swipe sideways with two fingers to see earlier days. They stay there after updating or restarting your Mac.
Delete just some
⌘-click to pick several and delete them together, or drag them all into an app. Each day has its own trash button, and Clear all empties the whole folder.
0.2.3
1 changeShow in Finder
A new button on the ledge opens your screenshots folder in Finder, for apps that only let you pick a file from there. You can also drag a screenshot straight into the Open dialog.
0.2.2
1 changeCrash reports
If Desklot crashes or freezes, it sends a report so we can fix it: what failed in the app and your macOS version. Never your files, their names or your name. Turn it off in Settings › General.
0.2.1
3 changesA shorter menu
The menu bar icon now has just what you use often: hide boxes, peek, the ledge, Settings and Help.
Box actions on the Desktop
Right-click the Desktop to make a smart box, collapse or align every box, or open the Desktop in Finder.
Screenshots folder in Settings
Open it from Settings › Ledge. To clear the ledge, use Clear all on the ledge itself.
0.2.0
6 changesSearch any box
Hover over a box and click the magnifying glass, or right-click › Search. Esc closes it.
An Apps box
Every app on your Mac, by name, with search. Open them or drag them to the Dock; Desklot never moves them.
New boxes from the right-click menu
Right-click the Desktop or the Folders box to make an empty box or a live folder box.
Undo when sending files
Send to…, Merge into and Move to box now show Undo, like Archive and Trash.
Boxes that stay in place
Boxes snap to even columns, make room for macOS widgets and never get pushed off the screen.
View options at hand
Right-click the Folders box or the Desktop to move the folders or change the icon size.
