License terms

The license terms for Desklot.

Last updated: October 10, 2026

Desklot is a product of IS del Norte. These terms are an agreement between you and IS del Norte, S.A. de C.V. ("we") for the Desklot app ("the software"). By installing or using the software you accept them.

1. Free trial

You may use all of Desklot free for 14 days, on any Mac you own or control, for personal or commercial work. To keep using it after the trial, you need a license.

2. License

Desklot is a one-time payment of US$30, with no subscription. When you buy it you get a personal, non-exclusive, non-transferable license to use it on one Mac that you own or control. A license is for one person; companies need one license per person who uses it. The license does not expire: the versions you are entitled to keep working.

3. What you may not do

  • Share, sell, rent or publish your license key, or use it beyond its activation limit.
  • Copy, modify, reverse engineer or redistribute the software, except where the law allows it regardless of this restriction.
  • Remove or work around the license check or the trial limit.

4. Updates

Desklot checks for updates and offers them; you choose when to install. We may change or remove features in future versions.

5. Ownership

The software is licensed, not sold. We keep all rights, title and interest in it, including its name and icon.

6. Purchase, final sale and refunds

You may evaluate Desklot free of charge for 14 days before buying. Except as set out in our refund policy or as required by law, license fees are non-refundable. Nothing in these terms excludes or limits any consumer right or remedy that the law doesn't allow to be excluded or limited, including statutory rights of withdrawal or revocation and the legal guarantee of conformity of digital content. If a purchase is refunded, your license ends and its key is deactivated.

7. Other warranties

Beyond the rights consumer law gives you (see section 6), the software is provided "as is", without other warranties, to the extent allowed by law. Desklot shows your files but does not move or delete them unless you ask it to; keep backups of anything important.

8. Limitation of liability

To the extent allowed by law, we are not liable for indirect, incidental or consequential damages, or loss of data, arising from your use of the software. Our total liability is limited to the amount you paid for the license.

9. Payments

Our order process is conducted by our online reseller Polar (polar.sh). Polar is the Merchant of Record for all our orders, handles taxes and invoices, and its own terms of sale apply to your purchase.

10. Law

These terms are governed by the laws of Mexico, without prejudice to the consumer protections of your country.
