Common questions
macOS says Desklot can't see my Desktop.
Open System Settings › Privacy & Security › Files and Folders, and turn on Desktop Folder for Desklot.
My Desktop icons are gone.
Desklot hides Finder's icons while it runs and brings them back when you quit it from its menu. If it was force quit, it reopens itself; you can also open it and quit it again.
What happens when the trial ends?
For 14 days you get all of Desklot, free. To keep using it after that, buy a license: a one-time US$30, no subscription.
Does it need the internet?
Only once, the first time you open it, to start your trial. After that Desklot works offline. With a license it confirms it about once a week when you're online; if you're offline, it keeps working for up to a year.
How do I activate my license?
Your license key arrives by email after you buy. Open Desklot's Settings, go to the license section, paste the key and click Activate.
My license key didn't arrive.
Check spam, or find it in your orders with the email you used to buy.
I want it on another Mac.
Your license works on one Mac at a time. To move it, open Desklot's Settings on the old Mac and click Deactivate… in the license section.
I want a refund.
The trial is there so you can be sure first, so sales are final. If Desklot doesn't work as described, write to us: we fix it, and if we can't, we refund you. See the refund policy.
Uninstall
Quit Desklot from its menu bar icon (this puts your Desktop icons and screenshot location back), then move Desklot from Applications to the Trash.
